Guercif

Guercif is a town and municipality in northeastern Morocco. It serves as the administrative capital of Guercif Province, located within the Oriental region. According to the 2014 Moroccan national census, the municipality had a population of 90,880 inhabitants living in 18,779 households.

Situated between the Rif Mountains and the Middle Atlas, Guercif occupies a strategic position within the Moulouya River basin. Owing to its location along the historic Taza Gap, the town has long served as an important transport corridor linking eastern Morocco with the country's central and western regions.

The local economy is dominated by agriculture, particularly olive cultivation, for which Guercif is among Morocco's principal producing areas. Commerce, transport, and traditional handicrafts also contribute significantly to the municipality's economy.
