Trek endangered mountain gorillas deep within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park before relaxing on a scenic journey through Lake Mburo National Park, home to zebras, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and numerous bird species. This adventure combines wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, comfortable accommodations and authentic Ugandan experiences into one incredible journey.
Your safari begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport. Travel southwest through Uganda's scenic countryside, making a stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and refreshments before continuing through rolling hills, tea plantations and rural communities.
After lunch en route, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the evening. Check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner and receive a briefing from your guide in preparation for the following day's gorilla trek.
After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a briefing by park rangers.
Your gorilla trekking adventure begins as experienced guides lead you through the rainforest in search of one of Bwindi's habituated gorilla families. Trekking time varies depending on the gorillas' movements.
Once located, you'll spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat.
Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing or exploring the nearby community (optional).
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and journey north towards Lake Mburo National Park.
Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy an evening game drive where you may encounter zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, elands, warthogs and numerous bird species.
Watch the African sunset before checking into your lodge for dinner.
Begin the morning with breakfast before departing Lake Mburo National Park. Depending on your departure time, enjoy a short game drive as you exit the park.
Travel back to Kampala with lunch en route and another opportunity to stop at the Equator if desired.
Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable Ugandan wildlife adventure.
Gorilla trekking can range from easy to challenging depending on the location of the gorilla family. Treks may last between 2 and 7 hours. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
